Women and Super

IFF supports the objective that all Australians are entitled to financial security in retirement, regardless of gender.

Women are often disadvantaged as generally they are paid lower incomes than their male counterparts, occupy jobs with lower incomes, take time out of the paid workforce to raise children and look after aged or sick relatives.  In many cases, this means they fail to accumulate enough superannuation to provide an adequate income in retirement.

IFF supports the development of a Government education campaign specifically targeting women to inform them about the existence of policies which might assist them improve their ability to accumulate adequate superannuation savings.

IFF also supports the work of Women in Super, a national network of women associated with the superannuation industry.
